When looking around the internet trying to find information about needy people, one common thing comes to the fore.
That common theme is to avoid needy people.
The sad reality is this, when coaching teams you’re always going to have people who are needy in your team and it’s not going to change.
Just at the moment there are more needy people in sport than there should be.
A question now is:
How do I deal with needy people in my teams and how do I change a needy persons focus from me as the coach to aiming for trophies?
As mentioned before, currently there are no courses, manuals or help for coaches in dealing with this aspect of coaching.
Time for change; when this aspect of coaching is solved, the rest will begin falling back into place, for why do you think more and more people are going to play individual sports?
They are the ones who are driven but have been let down by needy people hogging the coaches attention at the expense of training to improve and get better, because people love team sports but it’s the needy people who are killing it for everyone.
The key to great coaching is in dealing with needy people
