Rule of thumb is generally something that is meant as a guide, for variables always play a part, for there are always outliers that appear to break those rules.
You may be one of those yourself where you have to work hard and really look after yourself so that one can compete on the sports field, and there are others who seem to be able drink, smoke and eat pies, and yet still perform at a high level, how does that work?
But anyhow, I came an interview with James Fung and he was talking about how the environment within the body goes towards creating conditions which allow cancer to gain a foothold and grow.

And of course, within these times, you start learning more about the Immune System, and one starts coming across a similar theme, and what one begins to realize that:
The conditions within the body that allow cancer to survive and thrive are the same conditions within the body which compromises the Immune System
And the conditions within the body that allows cancer to thrive and at the same time compromises the Immune System are an acidic environment and oxygen deprived environment
For my understanding about cancer within the body is that our bodies produce about 100,000 cancer cells a day, and it’s our immune system, as it goes about it’s day to day functions, that keeps the cancer cells in check, so if we create an environment which allows our Immune System to thrive and operate at an optimal level, we will also create an environment within our bodies which keeps cancer in check, for it’s when the body gets out of balance, that over time, usually a period of years, the system tips.

So as a bit of a rule of thumb to help the body look after itself is to:
Create a slightly alkaline oxygen rich environment by eating mainly a whole pant based diet, and breathing through one’s nose
It’s interesting to note that blood always stays at a pH of between 7.35 – 7.45, a slightly alkaline environment and the stomach is an extremely acidic environment (about 1.5pH) for breaking down foods and killing pathogens, so different parts of the body have different functions and different pH levels depending on the jobs they need to do, and the role that they play, so one doesn’t want make the stomach towards an alkaline environment, for that will create other problems within the body.

The more that one learns about the human body, the more fascinating it becomes, and it’s all about finding what works for you, for the foods that suit one person may not suit another, though as a general rule of thumb that I’ve learnt over the years is that:
The conditions within the body that allow cancer to survive and thrive are the same conditions within the body which compromises the Immune System
And:
If one looks after the bodies Bio-Terrain and Immune System, they will look after you, because the body is a self-contained eco-system and a self-healing organism, and if one feeds what runs the body, the body will run itself, and if one changes what they eat, the body will change with it
