Repetition – all players love that word – not, though repetition like the word fun, can have many different meanings as there are people.
We all recognize that repetition is a big part of the coaching process, and we also know that if we do the same drills and exercises over and over again, that that sort of repetition is the quickest way to kill a team.
For we know that repetition is important for building the circuitry in the brain where the skills are truly performed, and the wrapping of the myelin around that circuitry.
How Talent Is Created
So where do we look to get the repetition in, well it’s actually abit easier than one thinks, for if one builds the repetition that they do around the Core Skills and Techniques, then one can really do any drills that they want.
And to add another dimension to the repetition, and it comes from a different quarter and it’s to do with the words and phrases that one uses, to keep reinforcing the original messages set out.
