When it comes to most leadership models, it revolves around what one could call the Pied Piper Method, where you have one individual at the top who everyone worships and follows where they go.
The Pied Piper Of Hamlin
This leader centric Pied Piper model is very ego orientated and slightly psychophic and doesn’t use or release the full talents of all of those underneath, for one can’t have the followers outshining the leaders, that just wouldn’t be very good form.
There are many, many different styles of leadership and not one model covers them all, for to be a leader one does not have to be in a position of power and all organisations do not have a hierarchy of positions.
One type of leader that is totally overlooked is the one who envisions the new territory and direction to go, clears the path through the undergrowth so that others can see and clears the path of obstacles so as few as possible trips ups and they create conditions so that all can shine and display their wares and the true leader is the least visible of the lot.

In reality all leaders are a pied piper in one form or another, the difference is whether the leader is the only one playing the instrument at the front whilst all others are following behind listening or whether all the ones following are out the front playing the tune.
All leaders are a pied piper, it’s whether one can create a band and all are playing the same tune
