If you are playing sport or coaching, there are 2 functions of the body that helps to become acquainted with and will explain so much why people bomb out when having to perform under pressure.
They are the:
Prefrontal Cortex (PFC)
Autonomic Nervous System (ANS)
And the reason why they are important is because the
Prefrontal Cortex is involved in stopping you from performing your best when you are required to perform under pressure
Autonomic Nervous System controls the flight, fight or freeze reaction in the body
Recognising, understanding and being able to bring them under your control, allows you to perform to a higher level on the sports field when it counts.
