Margaret Heffernan is an author and researcher I came across a number of years ago, and since I have read three of her books, including the latest – Uncharted.
Margaret has some big ideas within the covers of the books, and interestingly revolve around human behaviour, which as coaches, understanding human behaviour has become a big part of our coaching arsenal.
Wilful Blindness – Book
The Dangers Of Wilful Blindness – Talk
A Bigger Prize – Book
Time To Forget The Pecking Order At Work – Talk
Uncharted – Book
The Human Skills We Need In An Unpredictable World – Talk
And of course I’ve come across another of Margaret’s books which I’ve now ordered and look forward to receiving and reading.
Beyond Measure – Book
Dare To Disagree – Talk
And an interesting big idea that is starting to emerge is simply this:
Rather than humans being made redundant by the introduction of all this technology, humans are going to become more vital and important to look after the technology because the technology being introduced can only handle a predictable world, and as we all know, this world ain’t predictable
