If one reads this blog for long enough, you’ll notice I appear to head off all over the place into very different and diverse subject material and you may eventually ask why I head off into what may seem like left-field tangents, with what may seem like no relevance whatever to sport and coaching at all.
The answer is quite simple, life is just one big discussion and like any discussion, it heads out into left-field tangents.
And I’d get bored if I only stuck to the same subjects, and like most people with a very active mind, I need to explore a lot of different subjects and topics, and believe it or not, there is stuff I’m not writing about which I’m exploring.
Increase Your General Knowledge
And importantly, the larger the information and knowledge base one has, the more connections one can make, and thereby one starts to become more creative and curious as a result.
Accidental Scientific Discoveries
So I may seem to go off on these left-field tangents on a regular basis, and that’s the reason why I have the eBooks and posters for they are a summary of the information I’ve learnt through exploring these tangents that I take.
And the interesting thing one really learns by going off on the left-field tangents is how much new information there is to learn, so the best cure for a closed mind is to go off on a tangent from what one normally studies and looks at, and the greatest relief for an open active mind is to go off on a tangent, for it doesn’t matter how irrelevant the information one is learning may seem, it always fits into the big scheme somewhere, for as I always say:
