During life, we are going to have falls from time to time, and what at the time may be perceived as one of the biggest falls or disasters, actually turns out to be of the greatest benefit to one’s actual progress and understanding and it’s only by having a Growth Mindset that one will pick themselves up and reaps the rewards.
Two of my best failures was in getting really crook and in also one of my first rep games as a coach getting beaten 22 nil, ouch.
Though what these two perceived failures did was to sow the seeds for my successes to come for it showed what I was doing wasn’t working, there had to be a better way for there was things that I was doing at the time that wasn’t working.
Growth Mindset Vs Fixed Mindset
The off shoot of my above experiences is I went away and expanded my knowledge and subsequently on the health side I learnt about the body and the foods that feeds, maintains and benefits the body.
And in the sporting example, three months later we played the same opposition at a tournament and with 10 minutes to go we were only down 1 nil, we eventually lost by 4 nil, though still a loss, a huge improvement on the 3 months previous, plus I also went away and learnt more about the coaching process and the result of such knowledge expansion on can be seen on this website.
And importantly, having a growth mindset allows one to explore the concept of consciousness.
We all enjoy having success, though ultimately life isn’t all about one’s successes, it’s about one’s failures to, for from one’s failures, one’s big successes can come and this can usually only manifest if one has a growth mindset
