I’ve just been in the process of reading an interesting book, Conscious Coaching by Brett Bartholomew, and like anything that’s properly written, it’s applicable to everything than just the area it was written for.
Conscious Coaching – Podcast
In the book, Brett gives his own story and the health crisis he went through and the reason why he tells this story, at the beginning as it was part of the process he went through in which he came to understand himself better and the things that drive him and led him into his health crisis.
And Brett is very big on adapting coaching to suit each individual more, that is easier to do when coaching one on one rather than a team environment, though there are aspects we can do and use in which we can tailor what we to suit each individual more, and this is at the heart of Brett’s book in which he begins to look at the different personality and archetypes that people adhere to.
There are 16 types of archetypes that Brett explores and he explains what they are and what their strengths are, what their weakness are and importantly, how to connect and communicate with them.
This is a very good book, borne out of practical experience and will become a very good reference source as one will refer back to again and again as there is too much knowledge and information to absorb from only 1 or 2 readings.
And I will be adapting the information that Brett has put out into my own words so I can make it easier for myself to understand and apply and looking for groupings amongst the 16 identified archetypes to see if I can narrow the field down further for ease of identifying.
And when one adds Brett’s work to understanding that of Learners & Improvers and Needy People, then the understanding of people begins to become a lot more clearer.
Everyone’s brain is different and we’ve got different ways of learning and it’s a matter of adapting the information we learn and absorb to the workings of our brains so that we can each understand it
