The coaching generics that are currently taught in clinics and seminars are:
The role of the coach
The attributes of good coaching
All good stuff, though I have found the above two areas are not enough to develop good coaches and needs to be expanded upon so people have better understanding of the coaching process. So here is a new list for coaches to be aware of for the generics of coaching and does includes the two from above.
The new coaching generics are:
Priority of coaching
Essence of coaching
Core of coaching
Attributes of successful people
Attributes of good coaching
Role of the coach
Role of the player
You’ll be able to explore each area in other articles I have put up.
Like any good coach, go out and test what I have put forth and add to what I have put together for your own understanding and use.
When you speak to a lot of coaches at the moment, it’s not about coaching; it’s about the frustration of the fight and struggle to keep players motivated rather than the pleasure of passing on your knowledge and information about the sport you coach and creating better players.
Coaching should be a joy, not a chore
